Voters will head to the polls and submit absentee ballots for the Aug. 4, 2020 election to decide primary races and ballot proposals.
Here are key details from the City Clerk’s Office about voting in this election:
- In order to make sure absentee ballots are received by the deadline, the City Clerk recommends submitting completed absentee ballots to the City Hall drop box or the Clerk’s Office at City Hall. Putting absentee ballots in the mail in the days before the election does not guarantee they will make it to City Hall before the deadline. All completed absentee ballots must be submitted by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2020.
- The Clerk’s Office will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1 to assist residents with pre-election services.
- This election is happening during the COVID-19 pandemic. All health guidelines will be followed at polling places to protect the health of poll workers and voters.
- All polling places will be open for the election. The Ward 1 polling place for this election has been moved from the MLK Center to Second Missionary Baptist Church at 304 E. Prospect St.
