The E. Washington Avenue bridge in Downtown Jackson is now open to traffic! This bridge replacement, which was funded and completed by MDOT, recently wrapped up after two months of construction.
Prior to its replacement, the bridge over the Grand River was in a rapidly deteriorating condition and needed a full replacement to allow for continued safe passage. MDOT is also undertaking three other bridge replacements on E. High, N. Mechanic and N. Jackson streets.
