Getting around Jackson during street construction season has never been easier thanks to a new online tool. The City of Jackson recently launched an interactive Street Construction Project Map on the City website to help residents visualize and prepare for infrastructure improvements during the 2024 construction season.
The online map shows where street construction projects are happening all over the City of Jackson. Each individual project is represented on the map. Clicking on a construction project will bring up important details, such as impacted areas, what work is happening on the street, project timeline, and progress.
The map was created by the City’s Engineering Division. This City division plans and manages street construction projects in the City of Jackson. “The City has always posted annual construction projects on our website, but this is the first time they’ve been visualized in an online map,” said Public Information Officer Aaron Dimick. “This will be a resource for residents to prepare for street closures and better understand all the work that’s happening to rejuvenate infrastructure in Jackson.”
