Tree removals will shut down a busy street on Jackson’s north side on Wednesday, Nov. 2. Both directions of Lansing Avenue between W. Ganson and W. North streets will be closed to traffic by the City of Jackson for the entire day so crews can safely remove four dead trees from along the street.
This section of Lansing Avenue connects Downtown Jackson to several north side neighborhoods. A complete shut down is needed so crews can remove sizable dead trees that are posing a significant risk to utilities, drivers, pedestrians and homes. The Lansing Avenue closure will begin Wednesday morning and is expected be back open to traffic Wednesday evening.
Drivers are advised seek alternate routes around the closure. Updates will be posted on the City website and Facebook page.
