[ARCHIVED] S. Wisner Street closing for urgent sewer repair on Tuesday, June 28

road closed sign

A busy street in Jackson will be closed for one day so crews can repair a blocked sewer at a home. S. Wisner Street between W. Morrell Street and Carlton Boulevard will be closed on Tuesday, June 28 for the repair.

While the closure area is only one block of a residential neighborhood, S. Wisner Street is seeing increased traffic as part of S. West Avenue construction detour. The City’s Engineering Division is mindful that adding another closure in the area could add more frustration for drivers. However, a blocked sewer is a potential health hazard for residents that must be taken care of as soon as possible.

The work is expected to be completed in a single day. Updates on this sewer repair will be posted on the City website and Facebook page.
