[ARCHIVED] Jackson City Council Oct. 12, 2021 meeting

Jackson City Council MEETING UPDATE (1)

Here are highlights of what happened at the Jackson City Council meeting on Oct. 12:

- 14 streets across Jackson could be seeing improvement projects next year. The City Council voted to accept reports from the Engineering Division on 14 water main and street resurfacing projects planned for 2022. The next step is a hearing planned for next month.

-A new marijuana growing facility could be coming to Jackson. The City Council approved a conditional license for a planned facility on Wildwood Avenue near Ganson Street.

-Halloween Trick-or-Treat hours in the City of Jackson will be 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31. The City Council approved a resolution that encourages residents to observe these hours for trick-or-treating activity.

-Pedestrian trails and a bridge in the Cascades Park are being handed over to Jackson County. Although this is a county park, the City owned and maintained the pedestrian trails and wood bridge in the park. The county would like ownership of these features so the trail can be replaced and the bridge off S. Brown Street can be saved from demolition.

A recording of the meeting is available on this page.
