With temperatures set to go below zero, the City of Jackson is preparing for extreme cold coming to the area. In times of extreme cold or heat, we ask residents to use the MLK Recreation Center, 1107 Adrian Street, as a place to warm up or cool down. The MLK Center will have extended hours, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., on Monday, Jan. 20 and Tuesday, Jan. 21. Please keep in mind that this is not a full-service shelter and it will not be open overnight.
