[ARCHIVED] Rotary Park community meeting happening Thursday, Nov. 7

Rotary Park in Jackson Oct. 2024

Before improvements are planned at a neighborhood park, the City of Jackson is looking to get resident feedback. The City’s Parks and Recreation Department is planning a community meeting to engage neighbors on what changes they’d like to see at Rotary Park.

The community meeting for Rotary Park is planned for Thursday, Nov. 7, 6:30 p.m. at the Boos Recreation Center, 210 Gilbert St.  Rotary Park can be found on Jackson’s east side between Deyo and Plymouth streets. It features a playground, basketball court, ball field, and green space.

“It’s important for our department to understand how neighbors use these parks and what features they’d like to see in the future,” said Parks and Recreation Director Kelli Hoover. “Both Exchange and Rotary need to be updated so they can continue to be attractive gathering places. That work starts with neighbors telling us what new features they’d like to see.”

All Jackson residents are welcome to attend the meeting. The City of Jackson maintains 28 public parks and a pedestrian trail system for residents to use throughout the year. A community input meeting on improvements for Exchange Park was held on Tuesday, Oct. 29.
