[ARCHIVED] Racial Equity Commission hosting 'Creating Spaces for Equity' event

Racial equity is a frequent topic of discussion, but how much do you really know about the topic? Residents looking to learn more about racial equity have an upcoming opportunity. The City of Jackson Racial Equity Commission is hosting the Creating Spaces for Equity event on Thursday, Oct. 12 from 6-8 p.m. at the Jackson District Library’s Carnegie branch.  
 

This community outreach forum will explore a variety of racial equity-related topics, such as an introduction to racial equity and its importance, along with how to start conversations. The event will feature a panel discussion, question and answer session, and a guest speaker, Dr. Felicita Arzu- Carmichael of Oakland University.      

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the event, which will be held in the library’s auditorium. All residents are welcome to attend this free event. Seating is limited, so participants are encouraged to arrive early. Light refreshments will be served. The Carnegie Library is located at 244 W. Michigan Ave.
