[ARCHIVED] UPDATE: City crews working to remove large number of downed trees following storm

Blocked street in Jackson Aug. 25, 2023

The City of Jackson continues to clean up neighborhoods after last week's storm. Crews from the Dept. of Public Works made progress this weekend but tree removals are expected to last through this week.

It's important to know that crews prioritize getting streets and sidewalks cleared first before removing tree debris from along streets. They also cannot get to some downed trees because there is a power line that needs attention from Consumers Energy.

When you see a crew out working, please give them plenty of space so they can do their jobs safely. To report a blocked street or sidewalk in the City of Jackson, please call the Dept. of Public Works at 517-788-4170.
