With a heat wave hitting Jackson this week, residents will be looking for places to cool down. Here are two options if you're looking to keep cool.
The MLK Recreation Center, 1107 Adrian St., is always open for residents to warm up or cool down during regular operating hours. The center is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
The Nixon Water Park, 400 E. North St., is open for the summer starting Monday, June 17! The pool is open 11 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. ($5 per person) and 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. ($4 per person).
Recreation programs are canceled or altered on Monday, June 17 due to the high temperatures.
- Women's Doubles Tennis League: Canceled
- Adult Softball Monday Senior's League: Canceled
- Adult Co-Ed Softball: Games continue but with limited playing time
- Youth Track & Field Camp- Registration only 5:30-6:00 p.m. & parent meeting
- Youth Co-Ed Tee Ball at MLK Center- Registration only 5:30-6:00 p.m. & parent meeting.
