Residents in the area of Jackson’s Optimist Park are invited to a community meeting to get updates on the park’s improvement project. The meeting is happening Wednesday, Oct. 25, 5:30 p.m. in the 2nd Floor City Council Chambers at Jackson City Hall, 161 W. Michigan Ave.
Optimist Park is located along N. West Avenue on Jackson’s north side. A property sale on N. West Avenue has prompted the redesign of the small neighborhood park. Construction started earlier this summer and is set to wrap up later this fall. A new basketball court, playground, landscaping, and parking are all part of the new park’s design. The meeting is an opportunity for residents to learn more about the improvement project from City staff and ask questions.
