Getting lost is scary and can be dangerous, especially for someone living with Autism, Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Down syndrome, or another developmental disability. Can your loved one communicate their name and address if they are lost or disoriented? If the answer is “No”, consider enrolling them in the Take Me Home program.
The Take Me Home program is a free service offered by the Jackson Police Department for anyone who has difficulty communicating. The program is a secure database accessible only to public safety personnel for the purpose of quickly reconnecting a lost individual with their guardian.
Parents and caregivers are encouraged to complete the enrollment form which provides essential descriptive information, a current photo of the individual who needs special assistance, and emergency contact information for the guardian. This information is then used in the event the individual is lost and needs to be taken home. The online enrollment form is available on the City website.
