About the Zoning Board of Appeals
It is the responsibility of the planning director/zoning administrator to provide analysis and recommendations to the Zoning Board of Appeals regarding supplemental, dimensional, and use variance applications requesting deviation from the Zoning Ordinance and requirements such as minimum building setbacks, landscaping requirements, and the size of signs. The zoning administrator is charged with administering the ordinances on a day-to-day basis with the assistance of the Community Development Department. The deputy city attorney is available to consult on the legal ramifications of the decisions made by the board; other municipal officials are also consulted as needed.
