City Manager's Office

Welcome to the City of Jackson!

The City of Jackson is a vibrant, diverse community located in mid-Michigan. Founded in 1829, we are proud of our rich history and forward momentum. Jackson boasts a booming downtown that continues to attract new businesses and residents, tree-lined neighborhoods with affordable housing, and a growing parks system that enhances resident quality of life. Energy, health care, manufacturing, education and retail industries contribute to a robust local economy. Excellent local schools, which feature new facilities, are great assets to the city. Located along major highways, Jackson is quickly connected to other Michigan metro areas. We welcome all to participate in Jackson’s growth so we can build an inclusive community that helps everyone thrive.

Mission Statement

The City of Jackson strives to improve the quality of life for our residents. We do this through efficient services, local leadership, financial responsibility, and community equity. Our dedication to serving residents makes Jackson a vibrant, welcoming city.
