About
The Jackson Brownfield Redevelopment Authority (JBRA) promotes the revitalization of environmentally distressed areas, and facilitates the implementation of Brownfield Plans relating to the designation and treatment of Brownfield Redevelopment zones. The authority oversees the use of tax increment financing on select properties, such as former industrial and commercial sites, that need special attention to be redeveloped. Taxes from these properties are captured to fund redevelopment.
JBRA Board & Meetings
The Jackson Brownfield Redevelopment Authority (JBRA) generally meets on the 2nd Wednesday of even numbered months (Feb., April, June, Aug., Oct., Dec.) at 9:00 am in the 10th floor of City Hall. Most of the agenda items are internal matters and do not involve the public; however, in the event an external application is submitted, it shall comply with the schedule below. The City encourages applicants to inform staff of their plans prior to official submission of a request. Doing so will help to avoid a delay in the consideration of a proposal.
A 2023 meeting and deadline schedule can be found on this page.
The latest meeting information, including virtual meeting details, is posted on the City Meeting and Event Calendar. Future meeting agendas will be posted in the Agenda and Minutes Center.
If you'd like to serve on the JBRA Board, submit an online board/commission application through the City website.
