Industrial and manufacturing powerhouse

Ward 2 makes up the southeast section of Jackson and is known as the home of Jackson’s industrial park. The park is the heart of Jackson’s many manufacturing businesses and is vital to Jackson’s local economy.

The northern side of the ward is made up of residential housing and neighborhoods located only a few blocks from the historical downtown area. Ward 2’s residents are a diverse mix of people, ranging from retired married couples to single 20-somethings.

The ward features Allegiance Health Center, Jackson’s community-owned, locally governed regional hospital serving Hillsdale, Lenawee, Ingham, Calhoun and Washtenaw counties. The ward also has four parks, more than any other ward in Jackson.
