City of Jackson

Intergovernmental Purchasing Group

In 1992, the City and County of Jackson formed a collaborative purchasing committee to identify products and services that were commonly utilized by both governments. The Purchasing Department was charged with the lead role in preparing, distributing and analyzing the solicitations of these items.

The Intergovernmental Purchasing Group, as it came to be known, is made up of, and is open to, all governmental entities located within Jackson County. The goal of this Group is to purchase higher quality products and services, while streamlining the procurement process, by maximizing the combination of City and County resources. Because of the additional governmental cooperation, the net result has been higher savings on associated costs.

Any vendors interested in working with the City of Jackson or Jackson County administrations should register with the Purchasing Department.
