The Jackson Police Department is happy to announce the retirement of Officer Nathan Gross after 25 years of dedicated service to the Jackson community.
Officer Gross began his career as a Cadet for the Jackson Police Department in 1985. He was promoted to officer in 1987. Nathan served in a variety of special assignments over the next 25 years and became skillful in death scene investigations. Nathan amassed numerous awards over the years, and in 2011, received a Merit Citation Award, Outstanding Service Award and a Lifesaving Award. The latter was a result of Officer Gross’ quick action after arriving at the scene of a partially submerged vehicle in the Grand River on May 27, 2011.
“Nathan could always be counted on to complete whatever task he was assigned, and to do it well. He will be missed at the Department, but we wish him well in retirement and in his future endeavors,” said Chief Matthew R. Heins.
