Activity for April 20, 2012 through April 22, 2012

Friday, April 20, 2012:

Officers made 6 arrests, conducted 15 traffic stops, and were dispatched to 64 calls for service.

Officers took a report of a fire in the 1700 block of Deyo.  The suspect lit gasoline on fire which was inside a shed.  The Fire Department responded and quickly extinguished the fire.  The juvenile suspect was apprehended.

Officer Stanton conducted a traffic stop and the driver gave a false name.  Drugs were located in the vehicle, and the driver’s true identity was found; he had four outstanding warrants.  The suspect was arrested for the drugs and the warrants.

Officer Morgan took a report of an armed robbery in the 500 block of W. Ganson.  The suspect entered the store, showed a handgun, demanded money, and left the store.  The investigation is ongoing.

Saturday, April 21, 2012:

Officers made 3 arrests, conducted 39 traffic stops, and were dispatched to 76 calls for service.

Officers took a report of a vehicle/pedestrian accident.  The pedestrian attempted to cross the street against traffic and was struck.  He was taken to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Officer Stanton conducted foot patrol at an event at Jackson Catholic Middle School.

Officers Beard and Costley conducted walk-throughs at the Fair Event Center during the Jackson High School prom.

Officers Mills conducted foot patrol downtown.

Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1200 block of Williams for a disturbance where the suspect had left the area.  Officer Mills and K9 Nero made a traffic stop and eventually arrested the suspect for Fleeing and Eluding and possible OWI charges.

Sunday, April 22, 2012:

Officers made 8 arrests, conducted 18 traffic stops, and were dispatched to 75 calls for service.

Officers received information of a stolen bicycle in the area of First and High.  Sergeant Cook located several juveniles in the area and one was arrested for the larceny.

Officer Albrecht arrested a subject on an outstanding warrant.

Officers took a report of an armed robbery in the 100 block of W. Wilkins. The victim was walking down Wilkins St. when approached by two subjects.  One subject indicated he had a gun, although none was seen.  They demanded his money and then left.

Officers Mills arrested a subject on an outstanding warrant.

Officer Beard made a traffic stop and arrested a subject on an outstanding warrant.

Officers Mills and Beard conducted foot patrol in and around the area of Boogie Down on E. Prospect St.
