On 12/19/2005 at 10:20 p.m., James Russell Honeycutt, who was 30 years old at the time, was shot one time in his back, in the 300 block of Second St. in the city of Jackson. Mr. Honeycutt died as a result of his injuries. This appeared to be a robbery that went bad, due to the fact the suspect went through Mr. Honeycutt’s pockets.
The suspect was described as a black male weighing between 200 to 220lbs, height was described as being between 6’ to 6’2” wearing a black puffy coat. The suspect was last seen running westbound on W. Washington St.
