Service Calls

 The Jackson Water Department provides free service calls during normal working hours (8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday - Friday).  We make every effort to supply same day service for our customers and immediate response to emergency situations such as a flooding basement.  

Overtime Service Calls

All overtime calls are subject to a $60 overtime charge.  Service personnel will not be dispatched unless the property owner authorizes the overtime charge.  Exceptions may be made in cases where the property owner cannot be reached and the plant operator believes the situation is an emergency.  There is a 3 hours limit on overtime service calls and any call back after the 3 hours will be subject to an additional overtime charge.  The plant operator taking the overtime call will advise the customer exactly when this 3 hours period expires.

The $60 overtime charge also applies to customers whose water service was disconnected for non-payment, PLUS a $20 handling charge for non-pay accounts for a total of $80 over and above the overdue bill.   The entire amount of the bill, including the $80, shall be paid at City Hall by 12 noon of the following workday or the water service will be turned off again.

During regular working hours there is a $20 handling charge for any water service that has been turned off for non-payment.  The water will not be turned on until the total amount of the bill (including the $20 non-pay handling charge) is paid.

2002 SCHEDULE

 The following free service call days are provided for our customers so they will not be without necessary service for a period greater than two days. Free service will only be provided between 8 am and 5 pm on those days designated by the Water Department.  All other times will be subject to the approved overtime service charge. Free service days will not apply to those accounts that have been turned off for non pay.
