The City Planning Commission (CPC) is charged with developing a comprehensive plan that provides a vision of what the City will look like in 20 years. Once that document is completed, it must be actively managed and updated regularly. The Commission is also charged with managing the zoning ordinance — the main tool used to implement the comprehensive plan and regulate land use— which often includes recommending amendments to the City Council. Another responsibility of the CPC is to review various types of development proposals within the City.
