Between 2004 and 2012, the Jackson Brownfield Redevelopment Authority assessed more than a dozen properties for use with U.S. EPA Hazardous Substance and Petroleum Assessment Grants. The grants allowed a number of private entities to leverage investments for the redevelopment of both commercial and industrial properties. These investments, totaling more than $8.1 million, resulted in the retention and creation of over 400 jobs. Summaries of selected EPA Assessment Grant projects can be found below:
