Gas main work in Jackson neighborhood starting June 24

consumers work

Consumers Energy will be in a Jackson neighborhood over the next four months replacing gas mains.

Starting Monday, June 24, workers will dig up old gas mains and replace them with new gas lines.

The gas main replacement project will focus in areas along S. Jackson Street, W. Morrell Street and Maple Street. See the image below for a map of the areas that will be impacted.

No streets will be closed during the project. However, some sidewalks and parkways will be dug up so crews can access gas lines.

Sidewalks and parkways will be repaired once the work is complete.

The project is set to wrap up in mid-October.
